The "Want List"


The Want List form is available for agencies to request that Surplus Property staff find property needed for use in a respective agency. If the information submitted appears to be a reasonable request from an eligible government agency or nonprofit organization, we will add the submission to our master Want List, and contact you once property is located. 

Eligibility

To determine if your agency is currently eligible to purchase through this program, contact carla.jeannette@das.oregon.gov or phone 503-378-2753.

Qualifications

To see if your agency, nonprofit organization or Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) would qualify to receive property, you can view the list of qualifications here.

Please note: Before submitting a Want List request, consider visiting the Surplus Property warehouse 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, or search the Surplus database "Reuse" (no login required).

The "Want List"

The Want List is to be used by eligible "Donee" agency's only. If you don't know your current eligibility status, please contact the Eligibility Specialist above.


  • By submitting a Want List request, you establish a first right of refusal. If you decline, you will be moved to the bottom of the list for the particular item requested.
  • If you are offered and/or receive an item, you will either drop off the list completely or go to the bottom of the list if you want another one.
  • Do NOT include items we commonly receive and/or have in-stock such as: office furniture, musical instruments, general vehicles (i.e. sedan, pick-up, van, etc.). Please be specific!
  • DO include items that we receive infrequently that are highly desired by multiple agencies such as forklifts, boats, backhoes, dump-bed trucks, etc.
  • Include items we may receive infrequently that might have little value to anyone else, but you would have a use for (i.e. microfiche viewer, electric typewriter).

Can anyone create a want list?

If the request comes from a member of the public, or an individual attempting to receive property for their own personal use, the information submitted will not be transferred onto the active Want List, and will be deleted.
