The Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program is the state's employment and training program for low income families on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
There are a variety of available servcies focused on our four core areas: Stability, Well Being, Education and Training and Job Readiness/Employment.
Family coaches can connect participants to over 70 service providers across the state. Services are based on participant needs and interests such as:
- Job readiness
- Work experience and volunteer opportunities
- On-the-job training
- JOBS Plus subsidized employment
- High school and GED completion
- Trades certificates
- College courses or degree programs
- Parenting and life skills
- Family and housing stability services
- Connection to medical, mental health or substance treatment services
Family coaches may also offer support payments to help participants reach their goals.
The Family Assessment Goal Options Magazine works like a menu that lists ways you can get support to meet your goals while in the TANF program. It also lists ways to connect with advocates, resources and options.
