Overview
Each year, citizen volunteers contribute thousands of service hours at the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC). The involvement of volunteers is highly valued by the department. It is an opportunity that provides an important public service and is also personally rewarding.
Volunteers help DOC deliver programs and services, bringing a variety of skills to the department and modeling successful leadership and citizenship. Volunteers can assist Adults in Custody (AIC) in their personal development to become more productive, educated, self-sufficient, and law-abiding citizens.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Facilitating faith-based meetings and events
- Participating and organizing Native American services
- Life Skills programs
- 12-Step programs
- Education programs
- And many more
If you would like to become a DOC volunteer, review the criteria desired of our prospective volunteers and submit a completed application.
