ORS 685.135 Natural Childbirth Certificate Statute
OAR 850-035-0230 Requirements for Certification to Practice Natural Childbirth
To practice Natural Childbirth, Licensees must comply with all requirements in OAR 850-035-0230; which includes submitting the following forms. Please review the instructions in full prior to filling out and submitting the forms.

- Birth Assessment (used at each birth)
- Prenatal Record
- Postpartum Record

ONE
– TIME EDUCATION REQUIRED TO ADMINISTER INJECTION AND IV THERAPY
OAR 850-040-0240 One-time Continuing Education Required Prior to Administering Injection and IV Therapy, and Provider Requirements
- Licensee List – Fulfilled Requirements to Administering Injection / IV Therapy per Injection Site and Injectate
Injection
Therapy:
- Additional training and education are NOT REQUIRED to administer or supervise subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous injection of compounded, manufactured, injectable grade injectate.
- Licensees who intend to administer or supervise Injection Therapy BEYOND Subcutaneous, Intramuscular, Intravenous Injection of Compounded, Manufactured, Injectable Grade Injectate, MUST complete the ONE-TIME education and training required in OAR 850-040-0240 per injection site and injectate listed in each section of the rule.
IV Therapy:
- PARENTERAL MEDICINE NPLEX ELECTIVE EXAM REQUIREMENTS AS OF JAN. 1, 2025:
- All licensees who graduated after January 1, 2025, or students who will graduate after January 1, 2025, must pass the Parenteral Medicine NPLEX elective exam to perform or supervise any / all IV Therapy.
- Licensees who have NOT completed their education and training for Chelation IV and/or Ozone IV as of January 1, 2025, must pass the Parenteral Medicine NPLEX elective exam to perform or supervise Chelation and/or Ozone IV Therapy.
- Licensees who completed their education and training and were approved to perform Chelation IV and/or Ozone IV therapy prior to January 1, 2025, are NOT required to pass the Parenteral Medicine NPLEX elective exam.

PROGRAMS/COURSES APPROVED BY THE BOARD
Board Approved CE Programs / Courses - Searchable List (to search the list click Ctrl+F).
Licensees do NOT have to submit an application for approval for courses previously approved by the Board. Licensees who complete IV/Injection Therapy or Ketamine therapy CE previously approved by the Board:
- Send a copy of their certificate of completion to naturopatic.medicine@obnm.oregon.gov to be added to the Fulfilled Requirements Licensee List spreadsheet.
- Directly upload their certificate of approval for any of these approved courses through the self-service portal.
