Annual Renewal Responsibilities:
Licenses expire annually on December 31
License renewal applications must be completed fully and accurately BY THE LICENSEE.  The Licensee is responsible for all the answers to the questions in the renewal application, and could face disciplinary action for any misrepresentations.  By submitting the renewal application you, the Licensee, certify all information contained therein is true and complete.
Licensees must complete a separate questionnaire at the time of renewal for the Oregon Work Force Database (OWFD) this may add up to an additional 5-10 minutes to complete your renewal. https://www.oregon.gov/oha/OHPR/rulemaking/notices/409-026_Text.pdf

New Renewal Deadlines and Procedures:
Deadline: Renewals are due by December 31 @ 11:59pm.

Late Fee: Renewals submitted after December 31 @ 11:59pm will be charged a $150 restoration fee in addition to all other licensure fees.

Continued Education (CE) Audit Process:

All licensees shall submit to the Board a list of all CE credit hours earned in the previous calendar year.

Ten percent (10%) of licensees that submit renewal applications will be selected for audit.

Licensees selected for audit will be notified on / about February 1, 2019, and have 15 days to submit supporting documentation for the hours listed on their renewal application.

Renewal Responsibilities Per License Status:  NOTE: Change of status applications CAN NOT be processed through the renewal link. To CHANGE THE STATUS OF YOUR LICENSE contact the Board office to obtain a change of status application.
Active Status in First Calendar Year of Licensure:
Continuing Education: 32 hours of continuing education, including ten (10) pharmacy, and two (2) in EITHER ethics, suicide prevention, or cultural competency.  By second renewal cycle, must complete seven (7) hours of CE pertaining to Pain Management, including the Oregon Health Authority one-hour web-based training module, Advancing Pain Management in Oregon
Licensure Fees: $327.00 ($300 annual renewal fee, $25 PDMP assessment and $2 OHA Workforce Survey Fee)
You may receive continuing education credit hours from course work completed in 2018 from an accredited, graduate level health related program relevant to the practice of naturopathic medicine, i.e.  courses taken in 2018 from NUNM, Bastyr University, etc.  You may also receive credit for hours spent studying for your NPLEX and Oregon Jurisprudence Exam, and for hours spent in an approved preceptorship or an approved full-time residency program.  (See OAR 850-040-0210(12) for complete list of qualifying programs, activities and courses) Click here to be directed to the 2018 Fall Newsletter explaining first year CE.
Active Status:
Continuing Education: 32 hours of CE, with a minimum of ten (10) pharmacy and two (2) in EITHER ethics, suicide prevention, or cultural competency.

Inactive License:
Continuing Education: 10 hours of CE in any subject area.
Licensure Fees: $142.00 ($140 annual renewal fee and $2 OHA Workforce Survey Fee)
Retired License:
Continuing Education: None required
Licensure Fees: $15
Natural Childbirth Certification:
Continuing Education: 14 hours of CE in Natural Childbirth (seven (7) hours may be included in the annual Active Status requirements) and proof of current Neonatal CPR certification.
Certification Fee: $60.00
Payment Options:
Applications and payment completed via Visa / Master Card through the on-line renewal application process must be submitted by 11:59:59pm on December 31.  Checks or money orders must be post-marked on or before December 31, and sent to the Board office with the Renewal Application Confirmation Page.
Renewal applications submitted after December 31 at 11:59:59 will be charged additional $150 restoration fee.  If mailing payment postmarked after December 31, you must the additional $150 restoration fee.
Criminal History Check: The Board will conduct a criminal history check on each renewing licensee per OAR 850-030-0020(3).
