Federal actions and ODF
As of May 19, 2025
Every change in administration comes with the possibility of changes in federal funds and programs. ODF is monitoring federal actions and staying in close contact with our federal agency partners to identify and respond to changes that impact us.
Regardless, the federal situation doesn't change our commitment to protecting Oregon's forests, and we will do all we can to limit impacts to Oregonians.
Current status
Currently, there are no impacts to established ODF programs or existing grant agreements.
The USDA Forest Service has stated that all existing agreements will be honored, including from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). ODF will continue to honor our commitment to subrecipients and process invoices on existing awards. In turn, we will continue to invoice our federal partners for those expenses and haven't experienced any issues in receiving grant reimbursements to date.
However, the most recent guidance from the USFS is that there is a pause for all new federal awards pending a programmatic review and modifications to existing agreements.
ODF will continue to plan to receive federal grants and develop agreements to pass those funds through to subrecipients. The USFS has given us no indication that we should stop planning for future awards.
