Bi-State Tolling Subcommittee

Interstate BridgeI-5 Bridge Over the Columbia River

The Oregon Transportation Commission, as the state’s toll authority, has entered into a bi-state agreement with the Washington State Transportation Commission to proceed with a cooperative and mutual joint process for setting toll rates and policies for the I-5 Bridge over the Columbia River.

Construction of the new bridge is scheduled to begin by early 2026. Tolling on the existing bridge is expected to begin in spring 2026. Tolling is expected to provide traffic management and vital funding for the project, as well as cover ongoing operations and maintenance costs for the bridge and for tolling operations.
