About

Phase 1 of the Newberg-Dundee Bypass opened to traffic on January, 6, 2018. The four-mile bypass extends from OR 219 to OR 99W south of Dundee, with one travel lane in each direction (see map).

We worked for many years with local communities to plan and then construct the Bypass, which has already reduced traffic on OR 99W and improved the overall traffic flow in the surrounding communities.

The full 11-mile bypass is planned to be a four-lane expressway, two lanes in each direction, from Dayton to just east of Newberg. While the full bypass has been approved, funding was only available for Phase I and the design stage of Phase II.  Building the next phase will depend on funding availability and coordination among the partners.

Location

OR 99W | This Bypass is located in Yamhill County near and within the city's of Dundee and Newberg.
