This enhancement project strives to find the right balance for local businesses and highway users on Shady Cove's "Main Street", while improving safety for all users, including bicyclists and pedestrians.

It also accomodates a private water company installing new pipe for the community in state right of way.

Contractor will focus on the river side first - Oct. - Dec. 15, 2017
West side of the highway will be worked on from January-June, 2018
At the beginning of April, 2018 the contractor has finished up to Williams Lane.

Utility relocates, which began in summer 2017, contunued until fall.
This project is being performed in the off season to accomodate Shady Cove businesses which are dependent on summer tourists and to lessen the impacts to freight and travelers along Crater Lake Highway.

This project is complete!

In partnership with the City of Shady Cove, this $2.7 million enhancement project will slightly widen Highway 62 in the urban section of Shady Cove between Rogue River Drive north to Cleveland Street.

It will construct a two-way, center turn lane and provide sidewalks, bike lanes and storm sewer.

Sidewalks will be constructed on both sides of the highway: on the river side between Rogue River Drive to the Chase Bank; on the west side from Chaparral Drive to Cleveland Street.
To accommodate business owners on the southwest side, sidewalks were deleted from the project; however there will be road work in that area.
Jackson County is funding construction of a right turn lane for Rogue River Drive.
