About

enlarged project mapThe project will improve the pedestrian facility on the east end of the City of Sweet Home, enhancing access for residents and visitors to Foster Lake, and to vicinity businesses and employers. 

This project will:

  • Construct sidewalk along U.S. 20 from approximately the 53rd Avenue intersection to east of 60th Avenue. 

  • Construct two mid-block crossings in the vicinities of 40th Avenue (milepost 29) and 49th Avenue (milepost 30). The proposed changes include median refuge islands, pedestrian activated rapid flashing beacons, curb ramps and advanced stop striping.

  • Improve the marked school crossing at 54th Avenue with median island refuge and ADA compliant curb ramps and curb extension on the SE corner.

The mile points for the pedestrian / bike improvements are from milepost 30.4 to 31.2 .
