U.S. 101 Depoe Bay Bridge Preservation

Construction Phase

Region 2: Willamette Valley and Northwest Oregon (Depoe Bay, Lincoln)


​​​​​​​​​​​​We're removing and replacing the protective coating on the bridge to preserve it.

Impacts

Traffic Impact

Crews are mostly working during the day with sidewalk closures as needed. Expect delays and construction noise. Lane closures as needed, mostly during the night. 

Construction Impacts

You can expect:

  • Most of the work to take place off of the highway and under the bridge.
  • Crews working during the day, Monday through Friday.
  • Lane and sidewalk closures as needed.
  • Construction noise and delays.

Construction Activities

We're reapplying a protective coating to the bridge, making minor concrete repairs and repairing the existing bridge rails.

Remember: fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not. ​

About

The coastal Depoe Bay Bridge is exposed to harsh winds and salt water. The protective coating to help prevent corrosion was last installed in 1993 and needs to be reapplied.  

To keep the bridge in good working order, we will:
  •  Reapply the protective coating.
  •  Make minor concrete repairs.
  •  Repair the existing bridge rail.
