Construction Impacts

The westbound off-ramp to Prairie Road and the westbound on-ramp from NW Expressway to Beltline are closed.

Both ramps and the auxiliary lane will remain closed 24/7 until early December. You can get around the closure by using the posted detours.

Thank you for your continued patience – this work is weather dependent and our schedule may change but our crews are working hard to finish these activities.

We're strengthening the bridge deck and replacing the bridge rails to meet current standards at the NW Expressway overcrossing.

Pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will have access through or around work zones.

work zone construction iconPay attention in the work zone, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work!

Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.

Remember: fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.

The bridge is located on the Beltline highway, where the highway crosses over the UPRR railroads and NW Expressway in Eugene. The bridge needs repairs to keep it in good working condition for years to come.

The work will include:

  • Replacing the bridge railing, which is outdated and needs to be brought up to current standards.

  • Replace any joints that are leaking or damaged.

  • Install a concrete overlay to replace the driving surface (bridge deck) and give road users a smoother ride.

During construction expect lane and ramp closures and construction noise.
