About

online open houseThis All Roads Transportation Safety Project (ARTS) occurs in an area that has a higher than normal crash rate (in both frequency and severity), as identified by the Safety Priority Index System.

In order to improve sight distance, as well as enhance intersection warning signs to reduce crashes and near-misses, this project will:

  • Replace signs with higher visibility signage and add flashing beacons near road intersections.

  • Install concrete islands.

  • Restripe the roadway.

We will also be replacing the pavement on U.S. 20 between Knox Butte and OR 226.

During construction you can expect delays and construction noise. Most of the work will be scheduled at nighttime and lane closures will be from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. We will maintain access to businesses and residences within the work zone during construction.
