Visit for the most current information on traffic impacts and to plan alternate travel routes.

Pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will have access through or around work zones.

Segments of OR 126W have high concentrations of fatal and serious crashes that are above the statewide average for similar roadways. The purpose of the project is to focus on enhancements that will reduce crashes and crash rates in the Cougar Pass area.

We will:

  • Widen the highway at Cougar Pass between mileposts 36.1 and 36.6 to provide a margin of safety for travelers.

  • Install concrete barrier and/or guardrail on the south side of the highway.

  • Add centerline rumble strips.
