What Problem Will This Improve?
The Oregon 99 and Scenic Avenue intersection is controlled by stop signs and a flashing red light in the middle of the intersection.
It has a high crash rate and is in need of improvements, especially as the area grows. Scenic Avenue connects Oregon 99 to the east of I-5 including the Jackson County Expo and other destinations to the east.
The project will upgrade the intersection to make it safer. The project team is also working with CORP to improve the railroad crossing.
Additional Information

- Install a new traffic signal at the intersection
- Construct new curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements
- Provide new pavement and restripe the highway from I-5 for a center turn lane which will set up the new signal turn lanes.
- Upgrade the rail crossing.
