The Snake River Bridge provides important access between Oregon and Idaho. Built in 1967, the structure is in need of repairs and upgrades. Without them, the bridge will continue to deteriorate with increasing maintenance costs, and potentially impacting mobility.
This project will make important upgrades to the bridge. These upgrades will support an increase in freight mobility, support economic vitality, increase safety, reduce congestion and improve traffic flow.
Key project components include:
- Replace existing surface pavement with more durable and longer lasting material.
- Replace bridge joints.
- Repair concrete girders.
- Construct new curb ramp on northwest side (OR) of bridge.
- Retrofit existing bridge rail to meet rail height standards.
