About

The current pavement in the project area is in poor condition and rutting caused by the wear from vehicle wheel paths makes it vulnerable to winter weather.  Patching the road will continue to be a burden on maintenance until fixed.

Last paved in 2008, this section of I-5 will have reached the end of its service life by the time construction starts in 2023.

This project includes:

  • Removing and installing new pavement from milepost 253.7 to milepost 251.1 on the northbound lanes and from milepost 253.7 to milepost 250.1 on the southbound lanes.

  • Repave portions of the Kuebler Boulevard ramps.

  • Install permanent striping and rumble strips.

  • Repair the rough road approaching the Turner Road and railroad overpasses on I-5.

  • We will make some ADA improvements at the northbound I-5 on and off ramps on Kuebler Boulevard.
