​​​​​​​​​​We're installing traffic surveillance cameras and message signs along I-5.

 You can expect occasional nighttime shoulder and ​lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Most work to be done during the day, Monday through Thursday with nighttime work as needed.
  • Nighttime shoulder and lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Construction noise and debris.
  • Occasional delays.​​

Construction Activities

You'll see crews starting 10/3 preparing the area for construction. We're installing traffic surveillance cameras and message signs.

​Pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will have access through or around work zones. ​

Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers. 

Remember: fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not. ​​

Enlarged project map​The I-5 corridor between Salem and Albany currently experiences unreliable travel times, congestion and delays caused by crashes. 

We are implementing recommendations and guidance from the I-5 Optimization Project report to remove our older signs and replace them with new variable message board signs and traffic congestion cameras.
