Traffic Impact
The project will repair pavement along the I-5 travel lanes and ramps, replace bridge joints, remove roadside hazards and install guardrail. Construction is scheduled for completion this fall.
Construction Impacts
For the weeks of April 20 to May 8, the northbound I-5 left lane will be closed just past Exit 66 (Hugo) for concrete work. Expect delays.
From the evening of Sunday, May 3 through Friday, May 8, the I-5 northbound off ramp to Monument Drive will be closed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
During the ramp closures, travelers are advised to use an alternate route or follow detour signs.
The northbound Manzanita Rest Area (Exit 62) will be closed during the day on Monday, May 4 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for paving work. The southbound rest area will be closed on Tuesday, May 5 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Watch for intermittent I-5 lane closures near the rest areas.
on Tuesday night, May 5, the northbound on ramp at Exit 61 will be closed from 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. Please follow the designated detour.
Crews continue work on Interstate 5 south of Exit 66 during the day. Expect short delays with intermittent shoulder and lane closures. Use caution and watch for workers and equipment in the roadway.
Additional ramp closures are planned in the project area in the following weeks. The construction schedule is subject to change for adverse weather conditions.
