Traffic Impact

​The project will repair pavement along the I-5 travel lanes and ramps, replace bridge joints, remove roadside hazards and install guardrail. Construction is scheduled for completion this fall.

Construction Impacts

​Watch for intermittent I-5 lane closures through the work zone. Watch for construction signs and traffic control devices. Flaggers will provide traffic control on the ramps as needed.

• Nighttime (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) ramp closures are scheduled for the following locations:

  • July 19-23, I-5 southbound Exit 66 (Hugo/Monument Drive) on-ramp and off-ramp.
  • July 23-24, I-5 northbound Exit 66 (Hugo/Monument Drive) off-ramp.
  • July 23-24, I-5 northbound Exit 61 (Merlin) off-ramp.
    
  
  

There may be additional ramp closures in the project area. The construction schedule is subject to change for adverse weather conditions.

​Construction began in October 2025. Anticipated completion is Fall 2026.

​Complete asphalt and pavement repairs as well as bridge joint replacements and roadside upgrades (guardrail and clear zone establishment).

Project Area Map​. ​I-5 in Grants Pass - MP 58.18 - 66.70. Grants Pass south exit to Hugo Rd. (MP 66). Approximately 10 miles of road, 4 lanes, and 4 ramps.
