About
This project improves safety and extends the life of the bridge on NW Bridge Avenue, northwest of the west end of the St. Johns Bridge. The bridge structure, built in 1930, consists of steel with concrete casing and now requires concrete repair to continue serving travelers.
The work on this bridge includes two phases:
- Inspection in November 2025 will provide detailed information on where and how much concrete replacement is needed.
- Construction in the spring of 2026 will include removal of damaged concrete and then applying new concrete, repair or replacement of bridge joints and repaving the bridge deck.
Safety Improvements
- Crews will make concrete repairs to protect the steel structure, and ensure the bridge is safe and functional for years to come.
- The surface of the road will also be paved to create a smoother ride for travelers.
- Crews will install scaffolding to conduct the repairs and help minimize impacts from falling concrete on the surrounding property.
