Details

About

Improving safety at OR 140 at Lakeview Drive.

Location

OR 140 |

Oregon 140, MP 1.03, west of Oregon 62/White City

Cost and Funding

~$1.7 million

Contractor

Knife River Materials of Central Point.

Benefits

Provides safety for traffic making left turns from OR140 to Lakevew Drive.

What Problem Will This Improve?

Because there is no turn lane or refuge, inattentive drivers traveling at highway speed can rear-end left turning traffic, thus causing significant injury and death.

Speeds have been reduced to 45 mph in this area east to the roundabout. The need is apparent due to previous crashes that left turn refuges are needed for both east and westbound traffic.
