Baker City Curb Ramp Upgrades

​​​​​​​Upgrade curb ramps in Baker City to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.​


Traffic Impact

Be prepared for intermittent shoulder and land closures. Watch for flaggers.

Access to businesses will remain open.

Pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will have access through or around work zones.

We are holding an in-person open house on Thursday, June 2, from 4-7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Baker City City Hall (1655 1st Street, Baker City).​


Construction is ongoing, and is scheduled for completion by the end of October 2022.

  • OR 7 Baker-Copperfield Highway: from Broadway Street, milepost 0, to I-84 northbound on-ramp, milepost 1.26. 
  • US30 La Grande-Baker Highway: from Ninth Street, milepost 51.29, to Elm Street at Baker City Motel, milepost 52.69.
  • OR 7 Whitney Highway: from Indiana Avenue, milepost 50.37, to Place Street, milepost 50.92.Enlarged project map of OR7 and U.S. 30.
We will also install rapid flashing beacons at the following locations. These beacons improve crossing safety by directing drivers' attention to pedestrians.
  • OR 7 at Grove Street and Leo Alder Parkway.
  • U.S. 30 at Myrtle Street.
