OR 58: Eagle Creek to Salt Creek Tunnel Paving

​​​​We're paving this section of highway and replacing the driving surface on one bridge.​​

  • Lane and shoulder closures with automated flaggers helping direct traffic.
  • Construction noise.

enlarged project map iconEast of the town of Oakridge on OR 58, the surface of the highway and one bridge is in bad condition.

After winter 2022, we looked at the highway and found we need to prioritize repaving to preserve the road and prevent further deterioration and more costly repairs. 

We plan to:

  • ​Grind off and replace the old asphalt on about eight miles of road.

  • Remove and replace about two inches of concrete on the bridge west of the tunnel. 

  • Provide a smoother surface for drivers.
