U.S. 30 Bypass (North Lombard Street) at Peninsula Crossing Trail Project

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​We are improving safety for people walking, biking or rolling by upgrading the currently unsignalized crosswalk on U.S. 30 (North Lombard Street) at the Peninsula Crossing Trail with a new pedestrian-activated beacon known as Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon, or RRFB.​

About

​We are working on a project to enhance safety on U.S. 30 (North Lombard) at the Peninsula Crossing Trail.

This project will install a new enhanced pedestrian crossing, also known as Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB's), on the existing structure across North Lombard at the Peninsula Crossing Trail in North Portland. 

Other improvements include:
  • A new pedestrian island.
  • New signage and striping for the trail and pedestrian crossing.
  • Improved bike lane striping on the bridge.
  • Upgrades to lighting.

What Problem Will This Improve?

​This location has a history of pedestrian and bicycle crashes. The project will improve safety for people who walk, bike or roll across  Lombard Street at the Peninsula Crossing Trail.
