We are working on a project to enhance safety on U.S. 30 (North Lombard) at the Peninsula Crossing Trail.
This project will install a new enhanced pedestrian crossing, also known as Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB's), on the existing structure across North Lombard at the Peninsula Crossing Trail in North Portland.
Other improvements include:
- A new pedestrian island.
- New signage and striping for the trail and pedestrian crossing.
- Improved bike lane striping on the bridge.
- Upgrades to lighting.

We will provide the name of the contractor once they are selected, in the construction phase.
What Problem Will This Improve?
This location has a history of pedestrian and bicycle crashes. The project will improve safety for people who walk, bike or roll across Lombard Street at the Peninsula Crossing Trail.
