​​​​​ODOT is improving safety at I-205 ramps between the Columbia River and SE 82nd Avenue improving signals, lighting, striping and signs.

Schedule

​Construction is anticipated in 2026.

Travelers can expect lane closures at night. 

  • ​10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday – Thursday nights
  • 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday – Saturday nights.​

About

In 2026, we will make safety improvements at intersections on Interstate 205 ramps between Columbia River and SE 82nd Drive at 23 locations in Multnomah and Clackamas counties where serious injury or fatal crashes have occurred.

Work will include traffic signal head replacements, reflective materials added to traffic signals, new or relocated signs, crosswalk restriping, and improved illumination and light pole installation.

Benefits

The work aims to reduce the number and severity of crashes. It is part of the All Roads Transportation Safety Program (ARTS), which uses crash data to make safety improvements at high-crash intersections.
