About

enlarged project map iconThis historic U.S. 101 bridge was built in 1931. It's a popular tourist and cycling route located just north of the Tillamook Creamery. The bridge is over 90 years old and needs repairs.

We plan to:

  • Pave the road and seal the surface of the bridge.
  • Update the bridge railing to meet current safety standards.
  • Make the shoulder wider so it's more comfortable for bicyclists to use.
  • Improve the structural resiliency of the bridge by:
    • Replacing the retaining walls at the end of the bridge, called wing walls.
    • Stabilizing the slopes under the bridge.

This work will preserve the bridge's history and extend its life. It's faster and more cost-effective, saving money and time during construction.
