We are upgrading curb ramps in North Powder, Richland and Halfway to meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

Meetings and Events

We met with city councils in November 2024 to provide project updates. The public was invited to attend.

North Powder: Monday, Nov. 4, 7-9 p.m.
Halfway: Thursday, Nov. 14, 5-7 p.m.
Richland: Friday, Nov. 15, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Schedule

For the week of Aug. 24:

North Powder:

All work is complete, except for the handrail at the Post Office. The contractor is waiting for the handrail to be delivered.

Halfway:

Curb ramp work and paving is complete. Paving and permanent striping is now planned for the week of Aug. 24.

Richland:

Paving and permanent striping is now scheduled for the week of Aug. 24.

The project is scheduled to be completed by October 2026.

We are upgrading curb ramps in Baker and Union counties as part of a larger effort to meet current ADA standards.

These improvements mean increased safety and more seamless access for people who walk, bike or roll.

Benefits include:

Upgrades to existing curb ramps and pedestrian signals.
New ADA-compliant curb ramps and pedestrian signals where there are none.

The estimated construction cost is $5.8 million.
