About
This area of the corridor has a history of rockfall events. With this project, we plan to stabilize the hillside to help prevent rockfall hazards in the future.
The work will include:
- Removing loose rocks and materials from the slope.
- Installing mesh screening, or fencing, to help prevent future rockfalls.
This will help make the area safer for travelers, reduce the frequency of rockfall events and improve seismic resiliency of the OR 58 corridor.
This project helps continue our commitment to keep OR 58 a reliable lifeline route.
We'll have a better idea about the construction schedule and cost as we get further into design.
