About
This project will improve pedestrian facilities by building approximately 302 ADA-compliant sidewalk curb ramps in Reedsport, Bandon, Gold Beach, Brookings, Myrtle Point and Roseburg.
Problem: Many sidewalk curb ramps along southern Oregon highways are difficult to navigate for people using wheelchairs or those who have visual impairments.
Solution: New curb ramps will be constructed that meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Benefits: ADA-compliant curb ramps will allow smooth and safe travel along sidewalks and streets for individuals in wheelchairs, parents pushing strollers and people making deliveries. Yellow truncated domes provide a tactile walking surface for people with visual impairments.

|
Construction will take place in six cities in southwest Oregon, and each community has multiple locations where ADA ramps will be built or replaced.
Most of the curb ramp locations are along U.S. 101, Oregon 42 and Oregon 138E. Two locations in the Roseburg area are along Interstate 5.
- Reedsport: U.S. 101 from MP 211.58 to 212.45
- Bandon: U.S. 101 from MP 273.36 to 274.48
- Gold Beach: U.S. 101 from MP 327.49 to MP 329.64
- Brookings: U.S. 101 from MP 357.83 to 359.32
- Myrtle Point: Oregon 42 from MP 20.85 to 21.83
- Roseburg: Oregon 138E from MP -0.42 to -0.31, MP 0.10 to 1.47, and at MP 3.31; Interstate 5 Exit 127, connector at Edenbower Blvd MP 126.48, and connector at MP 119.89
Throughout the design phase, some locations may be added or removed from this list.
Cost and Funding
Total estimated cost: $19,824,000.00
Additional Information
ODOT is planning two big ADA projects that will build or replace curb ramps at hundreds of locations in southwest Oregon.
Phase 2 (Project No. 23844), which is described on this page, will have locations in the same cities as well as Bandon and Reedsport.
