This is a safety project to improve accessibility in the corridor.
U.S. 30 in Astoria has had a number of planning level recommendations made to improve safety and accessibility. The lack of a center turn lane, poor driving behavior, safety concerns and absent pedestrian/bicycle infrastructure have all been cited as reasons to improve the corridor.
To improve safety and accessibility, we:
Restriped U.S 30 to add a center turn lane.
Added bicycle lanes.
Upgraded pedestrian crossings and lighting.
Design: 2022-2023Construction: 2023
