This is a safety project to improve accessibility in the corridor.

Construction Activities

You may still see some crews in the area wrapping up remaining work.

We're mostly finished with construction. We'll return in 2024 to install bike detection cameras.

Visit TripCheck for the most current traffic information.

Pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will have access through or around work zones.

Pay attention in the work zone, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work!

Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers.

Remember: fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.

enlarged project map icon U.S. 30 in Astoria has had a number of planning level recommendations made to improve safety and accessibility. The lack of a center turn lane, poor driving behavior, safety concerns and absent pedestrian/bicycle infrastructure have all been cited as reasons to improve the corridor.

To improve safety and accessibility, we:

Restriped U.S 30 to add a center turn lane.
Added bicycle lanes.
Upgraded pedestrian crossings and lighting.
