The Oregon State Parks and Recreation Commission sets policy and direction for the department, approving budgets, property acquisitions and rules for the state park system. Commissioners, appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate, are responsible for establishing policies to protect Oregon's natural, cultural, and recreational sites for present and future generations, while also ensuring public access and funding stability.
All public commission meetings are streamed live to YouTube at https://bit.ly/oprdlive.
Business meetings and training workshops are open to public attendance, and executive sessions aren't. Executive sessions do not include any actions or deliberations toward decisions.
As a courtesy, most business meetings include an opportunity for informal public comments. To comment, email oprc.publiccomment@oprd.oregon.gov by 5 p.m. the Monday prior to a Commission meeting.
