Special advisories

ASBOG exams are now given only in a computer-based format. If you want to take an exam, you must apply to the Board for approval. The Board no longer offers paper-and-pencil exams. Once you are approved, you will register with the ASBOG testing vendor, Prometric, and pick your preferred test center. There should be test centers to choose from in several locations within Oregon, or you can go to a test center outside of Oregon. Where you sit for the test does not impact the validity of the result.

Application deadlines

To apply for an ASBOG exam, your application must be received at the Board office at least 100 days before the exam date. The only exception is for resubmittal applications. If you need to retake an ASBOG exam you failed, or take one you were approved to take previously but missed, your resubmittal application must be received at least 75 days before the exam date. No exceptions to these deadlines will be made.

Engineering Geology Exam

For the Engineering Geology Exam, you must send your application to the Board office at least 75 days before the exam date. There are no exceptions. The exam is administered on the same schedule as the ASBOG exam. Please note that this exam is not available in a computer-based format. The Board proctors this exam in-person in Salem, Oregon.
