Temp Rule Change Request
3/4/2026 through 8/28/2026
The State Treasurer recently and unexpectedly learned that extension of certain expiring IT security contracts will be subject to significant unanticipated price increases. The most efficient means to ensure continuity of IT security services is by purchasing the services from the federal consolidated GSA Multiple Award Schedule – Information Technology Category (MAS IT). Without the ability to purchase from MAS-IT, the State Treasurer will need to conduct an independent procurement process at a significant taxpayer cost and with the risk of critical delays in replacing the needed services. By adopting a temporary rule, no additional taxpayer money will be spent on duplicating a procurement process and the State Treasurer will be able to ensure continuity in receiving critical IT security services.
