2010 Mental Health AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE
May 2010 is Mental Health Awareness Month. Many people work tirelessly to advocate for the mental health needs of Oregonians. I invite you to nominate one or more of them for a 2010 Mental Health Award for Excellence. Past awards have recognized students, volunteers, educators, professionals, family members and consumers of mental health services.
The purpose of these awards is to celebrate the contributions that go beyond the daily work people do to increase resiliency of adults, youth and their families and to support recovery. Real recovery from mental illness requires individual advocacy, community action, understanding and teamwork. Increased resiliency and recovery are possible because of improved science, better community supports, and reduced stigma.
Please submit your nomination[s] to Julie Earnest, by 5:00 p.m., April 12, 2010. You can use fax, e-mail or mail regular mail this nomination form.
The Awards Ceremony will be 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., Friday May 21, Room 260, Labor and Industries Building, 350 Winter Street NE, in Salem.
