Friends and Family Services

The Department of Consumer and Family Services works closely with patients and their families to answer questions, provide education and support, and assist with resolving any issues or concerns.

Our responsibilities include:

  • Helping patients and families navigate the hospital and mental health systems
  • Answering questions about consumer rights
  • Linking people to hospital or community resources
  • Helping patients and families with concerns or complaints
  • Assisting with the guardianship process
  • Overseeing the hospital's grievance process
  • Assisting treatment care teams by facilitating communication between patients and their families
  • Working with families that have unique visitation needs
  • Keeping family and friends informed through our website, town hall meetings, educational videos, handbooks and other tools
  • Educating staff training on patient rights and the grievance process
