Homeland Security Grant Program Overview

The Homeland Security Grant Program is a primary funding mechanism for building and sustaining national preparedness capabilities and is comprised of five interconnected grant programs:  the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP), the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI), and Operation Stonegarden (OPSG).  Together, these grant programs fund a range of preparedness activities, including planning, organization, equipment purchase, training, exercises and management and administration.
