Getting Through Lahar'd Times | 2026 Oregon State-Level Exercise (SLE)

The 2026 Oregon State-Level Exercise (SLE), Getting Through Lahar'd Times, is selected to address established Preparedness Priorities outlined in the 2025 Integrated Preparedness Plan (IPP). These priorities support Oregon make collective progress towards identified emergency management targets, the SLEs offer an opportunity to assess that progress in a scenario-based environment.  

​State-Level​ Exercises (SLEs) are planned every two years to support the State of Oregon implement the plans, processes, and procedures needed during emergency or disaster situations. These events offer longer duration opportunities for statewide partners to practice the coordination and operations necessary to address situations that impact communities within Oregon.

  • 2016 – Cascadia Rising: The State of Oregon, in collaboration with local, tribal, and non-governmental organizations to practice the expected response and coordination on days 1-3 following a Cascadia Subduction Zone Earthquake event.
  • 2024 – IronOR 24 (Iron Oregon): The State of Oregon, in collaboration with local, tribal, and non-governmental organizations utilized the 2023 State Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) to practice the expected response and coordination on days 4-7 following a Cascadia Subduction Zone Earthquake event.​
