    The Environmental Quality Commission is a five-member citizen panel appointed by the governor of Oregon for four-year terms to serve as the Department of Environmental Quality's policy and rulemaking board. In addition to adopting rules, the EQC also establishes policies, issues orders, judges appeals of fines or other Department actions, and appoints the DEQ director.
     
Current Actions Resources
The commission requested public comment on the draft materials, including the proposed criteria and recruitment timeline, for their DEQ director recruitment.
 
Comments were accepted until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016. The commission will consider the comments, including any verbal comments presented between 1 and 2 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2016, at a special meeting or send in hard copy via hand delivery or U.S. Postal Mail (those items can be addressed to Stephanie Caldera, EQC assistant, 811 SW 6th Avenue, Portland Oregon 97204).
 
All comments, regardless of format, carry the same weight for the considerations of the commission.

The commission will meet to take action on proposed permanent rules related to colored art glass manufacturing. The commission may also take action to appoint an interim director to serve until the hiring of a permanent director.
