Natural Gas/ Propane Flat Fee
The Fuels Tax Group implemented an Annual Special Use fee in lieu of the per-gallon tax for vehicles powered by natural gas and propane. To register for and pay the special use fuel license fee visit the Oregon Fuels Tax System. Once a registration is approved, emblems will be issued for each vehicle.
Emblems are vehicle specific, non-transferable and valid for a calendar year. The emblem allows purchase of natural gas or propane without paying the per-gallon fuel tax. It must be kept in the vehicle and presented to the seller at the time of sale. Please check with your seller to see if they sell fuel without the state tax.
