The four bridges were reconstructed on I-5 almost 20 years ago when I-5 was widened through Salem but the end panels are displaying vertical dips off both ends of the bridges, in both directions, resulting in poor ride conditions for motorists. The project will grind the pavement; inlay new pavement material to better match the roadway and bridge profiles; and improve drainage near the bridge ends.
Over 100,000 vehicles a day use this section of I-5.
The four bridges are:
- Silverton Road (MP 257.53) overcrossing
- Sunnyview Road (MP256.54) overcrossing. The ramps to and from Market Street are also on the bridge
- Market Street (MP256.28) overcrossing
- State Street (MP 254.74) overcrossing
