The Transportation Safety Action Plan was adopted by the Oregon Transportation Commission

The Oregon Transportation Commission formally adopted the 2026 Transportation Safety Action Plan at their Ocober 8, 2026 meeting. Their vote was the final step in a two-year process to update the plan which guides the state’s road safety investments and policies. Read the adopted 2026 Transportation Safety Action Plan.

What's Next

The commission’s adoption means the plan can move into the implementation phase. That means we will:

Prioritize the plan’s actions for near- and mid-term work.
Identify implementation roles among ODOT staff, other state agencies and local partners.
Monitor our progress based on fatal and serious injury crash data.
Gather lessons to improve our work and plan for the next update in 2031.
