Rulemaking with BLSW

Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) are extensions of statutes which are laws passed by the legislature. The Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers (BLSW) uses OARs to ensure that there are clear and enforceable standards that regulate the profession of social work in the state of Oregon.

This page will display proposed rule changes of the Oregon BLSW and announce the comment period for public comment. There will also be recently adopted rules and a link to the agency's current, published rules.

Before the BLSW adopts a rule, a public comment period for the proposed rule language and at least one public hearing will be held during the comment period. Information will be posted under proposed rules when available to comment.

Public Comment

During the rulemaking process, comment periods for public comment will be posted. All comments received are posted on this site for public transparency. Each comment will be posted with the matching rule under related materials column of the Proposed Rules section.
