In this webinar, we’ll learn from Building Codes Division about how to harden your home against fires, and we'll also hear from the Oregon State Fire Marshal about creating defensible space. At the end, CCB will present on how to hire a contractor to do the work.
The speaker from Building Codes Division will cover the basic home hardening requirements as found in Oregon Residential Specialty Code Section R327, along with a quick update on the statewide wildfire hazard map. Discussion will talk about fire hardening:

• Brief science on how defensible space works/why it's recommended
• Defensible space definition and background
