How can I request a public record from the Oregon
Construction Contractors Board?
- Fill out our online form: https://www.oregon.gov/ccb/Documents/License%20Certification%20-%20Records%20Request.pdf
- Email the form to CCB.public.records@ccb.oregon.gov
- Watch your email for an acknowledgement of your
request (should come within 5 business days). Most records requests are
fulfilled within 15 business days.
Can I use AI to write the request for me?
Use of AI to craft your public record request may result in
delays. An increasing number of people are using AI to write emails requesting
public records instead of using the form. There is no way to streamline these
requests. Responses to AI-generated public record requests take much longer and
can result in significant delays for the requestor. To receive your records as efficiently as possible, please fill out the public record request form for the
complaint file, licensing file, or enforcement file.
What’s included in each type of file on the form?
Every file is different. Here are some examples of the kind
of documents you might see in each type of file:
- Licensing: License application, renewal
information, license-related emails and letters sent from and to the
contractor, insurance, bond information.
- Dispute resolution services: Supporting
evidence and documentation submitted by both parties, emails and letters
between the agency and both parties, notices, final orders, settlement
information.
- Enforcement files: Information collected
by field investigators and compliance officers, notices, and final orders.
Will I have to pay for my public record request?
There are two types of record requests. The fee you will pay
depends on the type of request.
- Requests for standard files:
Standard licensing files, dispute resolution files, and enforcement files cost
$0.25 per page. The CCB waives the fee for the first 80 pages. We also waive
the fee for any standard file requests less than $50, and we cap the price at
$150. Because CCB waives the fee for the first 80 pages and waives the cost for
any requests less than $50, many people get these requests for free.
- Special requests: Special requests,
like requests requiring CCB to run dedicated reports and pull documents using
keywords, date ranges, etc., are labor intensive. These requests cost up to $75
per hour. There is no cap on the cost of this type of request.
