2026 Oregon Innovation and Intervention Fund (OIIF)
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program serves as the primary federal source of criminal justice funding to state and local jurisdiction and is administered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, a unit of the U.S. Department of Justice. As Oregon’s State Administering Agency, the Criminal Justice Commission (CJC) manages the State’s JAG program. To guide the program’s funding priorities, CJC developed a comprehensive statewide JAG Strategic Plan for the timeframe of January 1, 2025-December 31, 2029.
The Oregon Innovation and Intervention Fund (OIIF) is one component of the State’s JAG program and focuses on improving Oregon’s public safety system in innovative ways, or as a direct response to a public safety crisis. Innovative projects are defined as having a strong potential to positively impact public safety and benefit the entire state through measurable outcomes or potential reproducibility after a pilot period.
