Building Energy Use Intensity

Energy Use Intensity (EUI), in Agency Buildings (2018-2022)

The Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE) tracks EUI for current state buildings. State agencies not meeting energy use targets will work with ODOE and DAS to identify buildings needing remodel to reduce energy use.  EUI is the measure used to identify energy efficiency per square foot of building space.

Executive Order 17-20 and HB 3409 (2023) outline energy use targets. These targets depend on the type of building and Oregon’s climate.

ODOE publishes a SEED Report of EUI data for current state buildings.
