Fleet Fuel Use

Fuel Use by Type, 2018-2022

This metric shows fuel use by fuel type across the enterprise. This includes fuels for light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles, along with fuels for maintenance activities such as mowing.

Only agencies reporting significant fuel use over 7,000 gallons annually are reported. Fuel use from other agencies were nominal and are not included.

Gasoline blend fuels continue to be the predominant consumed fuel. Starting in 2020, agencies increased their use of renewable diesel to replace conventional diesel. Electricity has also started to play a small but increasing role as agencies electrify their vehicle fleets. Both fuels significantly reduce GHG emissions compared to gasoline and conventional diesel.
