Electronic Plan of Correction (ePOC)

The Nursing Facility Survey Unit (NFSU) of the Oregon Office of Licensing and Regulatory Oversight is pleased to announce that we are one of the states chosen to participate in the next phase of the Center for Medicaid Medicare Services (CMS) Electronic Plan of Correction (ePOC) project.

Quality Indicator Survey (QIS)

In February 2011, Oregon began transitioning to the use of the long-term Quality Indicator Survey process as required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The QIS was designed to achieve the following objectives:

  • Improve consistency and accuracy of quality of life and quality of care problem identification;
  • Comprehensively review the full range of regulatory care areas.

Appendix PP of the State Operations Manual outlines the minimum federal requirements for all Medicare and Medicaid certified nursing facilities.
