Family-Focused Programs and Events
Department of Corrections facilities across the state offer many family-oriented programs and events. Positive relationships play an important role in both AIC incarceration and their re-entry into the community, and family are encouraged to participate in opportunities to connect.
Some examples of events and programs loved ones can participate in include:
- Enhanced Family Visiting events like game nights, Halloween trick-or-treating, holiday crafts, Father’s Day BBQs, and more! (varies by facility)
- Yearly Powwows for Native American AICs and their families
- Family First summer BBQ at Oregon State Penitentiary
- Girl Scouts Beyond Bars at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility
