Preserving Bridges

Preserving our bridges is important to the Oregon Department of Transportation. The Bridge Preservation Engineering Team provides services that include:

  • Rehabilitation and cathodic protection of coastal bridges.
  • Rehabilitation and upgrade of movable bridges.
  • Heated bridge deck deicing systems.
  • Coating and metallization of steel bridges.
  • Fracture mitigation and repair.
  • Instrumentation and remote communication for seismic and other data collection systems for structures.

The following information explains some of our preservation processes.
